Tangents and Parallels is a project to create works comparing formula, system and network as basis for research and investigate knowledge, histories and/or characteristics of certain known systems that could be political, familial, scientific, biological, mathematical, social and cultural.

 

In this project, issues of climate change are addressed with comparison of humans and animals. The effects of climate change are a "parallel" as they affect the whole globe, humans and animals alike, while the point of "tangent" is that humans have alternatives by finding methods to adapt, but animals are unable to adapt fast enough to the rapid climate changes before they start to die out.

My final works extend from these research topics, as I attempt to bring attention to the issue of climate change through two distinct visual styles that also reflect how we as a collective society face this problem.
